Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse, in the MS (Medical Surgical) specialty, located at the healthcare facility. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care on a Medical Surgical unit, supporting the organizations commitment to patient-centered health services. The role requires working nights, with a schedule of 12-hour shifts and a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details

• Certifications & Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) required. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, along with current licensure and the ability to submit a license to the facility.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, at least 36 hours per week.
• Position Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a range of diagnoses such as abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain. Responsibilities include managing common drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia infusions, and collaborating with charge nurses and mid-level providers.
• Additional Requirements: Self-scheduling, including a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week schedule, and participation in orientation during the week of start date. Emergency Department setting with a nurse-patient ratio of 1:4, using EPIC charting system, and required to handle a variety of clinical duties, including troubleshooting ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow devices, and performing lab draws as needed.
• Float Requirements: Float rotation may be required based on departmental needs within Zone 1.
• Additional notes: The role involves work in a trauma level ED with 12 beds/trauma bays, and experience in managing common emergency department diagnoses and procedures is essential.
