Job Summary Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) in the healthcare setting, this role involves providing direct patient care to individuals with a variety of medical conditions, including heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations, and general medical-surgical patients. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care and compliance with hospital protocols.
Job Details
Position Description: Provides patient care for acute and chronic conditions, including heart failure, pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, and general medical-surgical cases.
Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, minimum 2 years of experience in acute care nursing, experience in Medical Surgical (MS) units, and ability to read telemetry strips.
Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Phillips Telemetry monitors, competence in reading telemetry strips, and familiarity with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred).
Additional Information: Candidate must be available to work weekends and holidays as per unit requirements. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are utilized. Floating within designated zones may be required based on department needs.
