Job Summary: Medical Surgical Floor Nurse - Richmond, VA. This position involves providing patient care on a general medical-surgical unit that also serves as a stroke and neuro designated area. The role requires compassionate, engaged, and upbeat healthcare professionals to support a busy unit with a maximum capacity of 43 patients.
Job Details:
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 10/12/2026 and ending 01/11/2027.
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, candidates with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications: NIH Stroke certification and ACLS certification are highly desirable.
Additional Information: The unit features remote tele EMR with Meditech electronic health record system. Typical procedures include general medical-surgical patient care, stroke management, and neuro assessments. The successful candidate should demonstrate an upbeat demeanor, compassion, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Dress code is navy scrubs. The unit has received multiple Daisy awards, is stroke certified, and has maintained over 850 days free of CAUTI.
