Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical unit position requiring 2 years of experience and travel nursing background.

Details

• Med/Surg unit with MS/Tele and Short Stay (23-hour) capabilities
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN State or Compact) required in-hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, CMSRN, or RN-BC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Meditech charting experience strongly preferred
• Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing GI, GU/renal, and neurological conditions preferred
• Cardiac monitoring skills including telemetry and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Wound care and isolation precaution knowledge required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of Med/Surg, telemetry, and orthopedic cases
• Facility completion of pre-start and annual competency modules required for clearance
• Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills needed in a fast-paced environment
• RTO must be submitted with application
