• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours standard, with 48 hours also accepted
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Requirement: 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
• Floating: Required
• Schedule: Based on unit needs
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Charting/Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong telemetry experience, including interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood product administration, and isolation precautions
• Ability to manage common medical-surgical and telemetry patient needs with confidence and professionalism
• Open to floating within and near the facility as needed
• Willing to work designated holidays and weekend requirements
• Epic experience preferred
• First-time travelers may be considered

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg Telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and therapies, including insulin and heparin drips, per protocol
• Support patients with complex diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, anemia, and post-procedure recovery needs
• Perform assessments, implement care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote positive patient outcomes
• Manage IVs, central line care, blood draws, wound care, feeding tubes, and other common unit procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
• Adapt to changing unit needs while maintaining excellent patient safety and professionalism
