• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Requirement: 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
• Floating: Floating required within or near the facility as needed
• Charting/Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Dress Code: Navy/White scrubs
• Unit Setting: Adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry with a 41-bed census

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be considered for submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• BLS required
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and wound care
• Comfort with central line care, peripheral IV management, PICC line management, and starting IVs
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and float as needed
• Willingness to work scheduled holidays and meet unit-based staffing needs
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage therapies including heparin drips and insulin protocols
• Perform assessments, document findings, and communicate effectively using SBAR and Epic
• Support patients with respiratory needs, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac management
• Assist with feeding tube care, colostomy care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, pharmacy, and other clinical support teams
• Maintain patient safety while managing a variety of Med/Surg diagnoses, including COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, anemia, and GI bleed
• Float to appropriate units within the organization as assigned
• Deliver compassionate, efficient care while supporting a smooth patient experience on every shift
