Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) Located in the healthcare organizations short-term acute care facility, this role involves providing specialized care within the Medical Surgical unit. The clinical team cares for patients with various post-operative needs, including tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, drain management, tube feeding, and wound care, while monitoring patients on telemetry. The position requires collaboration within a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment.

Job Details

• Position Description: RN / MS. Start date: 10/26/2026, end date: 01/25/2027. Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license in MO or IL; 1+ years of experience on a Medical Surgical unit; experience with drains, monitoring flaps post-op, tracheostomy/total laryngectomy care, tube feeding, phlebotomy, IV access, and Central Line Management.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Level I/Teaching facilities, trauma experience, Flap Monitoring, and ENT specialty care.
• Responsibilities: Providing patient-centered care for adults with complex needs including airway management, post-operative monitoring, and wound care; utilizing EPIC charting system; demonstrating knowledge of infection control and safety protocols; responding effectively to patient emergencies; and documenting care accurately.
• Additional Information: Open to accommodating block schedule; float within scope to meet facility needs; no RTO exceeding 7 days; compliance deadlines require timely submission of certifications and modules; hospital highlights include a magnet and teaching hospital with 1,266 beds.
