Job Summary Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Urology/Nephrology, located at the healthcare facility. This position involves providing patient care on a busy medical/surgical unit with a focus on urology and nephrology cases, including kidney transplants, urinary issues, and complex bladder surgeries. The role requires experienced RNs to deliver high-quality care during night shifts and contribute to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
Job Details
Position: Medical Surgical RN Urology/Nephrology
Shift: 3x12 Night shifts (1845-0715), minimum 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification, minimum 2 years of experience in medical/surgical nursing, proficiency with Cerner charting system, current active license in hand or application process, and active CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with telemetry, renal failure, dialysis management, urinary catheterization, chest tubes, and use of rapid response teams.
Responsibilities: Provide care for patients with urology and nephrology diagnoses, including post-kidney transplant management, urinary catheter care, renal failure treatment, and emergency response. Will float to other medical/surgical units as needed.
Certifications: BLS required; AHA or Red Cross certifications accepted, RQI cards not accepted.
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, starting October 19, 2026, through January 18, 2027.
Additional Information: Must have at least 2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical units, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills. Candidates must be pre-closed at the time of submission with confirmed RTO and holiday availability.
