Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Night Shift Region I. This position involves providing care to general medical patients including those with sepsis, COPD, bowel obstructions, CHF, and other medical conditions. The role requires adherence to clinical protocols, titration of drips such as insulin and heparin, and accurate interpretation of tele-monitoring strips from a centralized location. The nurse will be primarily assigned to a 28-bed medical surgical unit, with responsibilities extending across multiple hospitals within the designated region.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 1800-0630 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing school, current state licensure, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, 2+ years of related nursing experience preferred, experience with titrating insulin and heparin drips, ability to read strips from centralized tele-monitoring system, willing to wait for license submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree, experience with EPIC charting system, proficiency in reading telemonitor strips, experience in medical-surgical or acute care settings.
• Float: Float rotation may be required; staff may be floated to various hospitals within Region I, including St. Anne Hospital, Virginia Mason Medical Center, and St. Francis Hospital. Additional compensation applies for hours worked while floated.
• Additional Information: The assignment includes night shifts with weekend and holiday requirements. Nurses must wear professional scrubs, and orientation specific to the unit will be provided. Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment; charting is completed in EPIC.
