Job Summary: Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Floors is needed in Hilo, Hawaii. This position involves floating between various medical and surgical units, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care during night shifts. The role requires adherence to facility protocols and efficient management of a diverse patient population.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week following a short orientation period.
Required qualifications: Valid Hawaii State nursing license, BLS certification, ACLS certification. Candidates with 2-10 years of nursing experience are preferred.
Preferred qualifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications.
Units/Departments: Medical Surgical Floor (Medical), Laulima (Surgical Acute), and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit.
Patient ratio: Medical - 1:6 (day and evening), 1:8 (night); Laulima - 1:6; Cardiovascular - 1:4 (may vary).
Orientation: Specific training and orientation provided for each unit.
Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend employee health appointment on the following day. Please do not accept the start date if unable to arrive on time.
