Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse MS Location: The job involves floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles. The position entails providing direct patient care using the nursing process, ensuring safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care, and collaborating with the healthcare team.
Job Details
- Position Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Required Qualifications: Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment. At least one 13-week previous travel assignment. Two (2) years current experience required in specialty.
- Preferred Qualifications: EPIC experience; can train on-site.
- Required Skills & Certifications: "EPIC", "TEAM PLAYER", "BLS (CPR)".
- Education: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates are expected to submit appropriate licensure and certification documentation prior to deployment.
