Job Summary Medical Surgical Floor (MS) nurse position located in an unspecified facility. This role involves providing patient care in a general medical-surgical setting, with a focus on abdominal surgery and trauma patients. The position requires flexibility to float across multiple campuses and adherence to the organizations policies and procedures.
Job Details
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Medical Surgical (MS) or Med Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting; recent/current Level I trauma experience preferred; current Iowa (IA) license or multistate/compact license; ability to document at least one professional reference from within the past 24 months; BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS; valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications: Recent/current Level II trauma experience
Float: Float rotation may be required across all campuses
Additional Information: Candidates must have a background in heparin experience and experience with EPIC electronic medical records. No first-time travelers; must have completed a travel contract within the last 24 months. Orientation date is scheduled for 10/12/2026. The unit size includes 24-26 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4-8, caring for general, abdominal, and flap surgeries. The scrub color is navy blue (tops and bottoms, solids).
