Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in an acute care setting, responsible for caring for a diverse patient population including those with congestive heart failure, cardiac catheterization, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology conditions. The role involves providing compassionate, patient-centered care on a 12-hour night shift, with weekend and holiday rotations, utilizing EPIC charting system, and managing a patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6 depending on acuity levels.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice nursing, BLS certification, two years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, and ability to work night shift.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records, familiarity with monitor interpretation, and ability to manage ventilated patients including BiPAP and CPAP.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to critical care units as needed.
• Additional Information:
  • All candidates must include a copy of their unexpired driver's license with submissions.
  • Unit notes specify a 50-mile radius rule for submissions.
  • All units utilize charge nurses and CNAs.
  • Telemetry monitoring patients via Phillips monitors; RNs must interpret strips.
  • RTs manage CPAP and BiPAP ventilated patients; RTs are in-house 24/7.
  • In-house pharmacy is operational 24/7 with use of Accudose.
  • Orientation includes 1-2 floor-specific shifts with a preceptor.
  • Manager aims to accommodate requests to work primarily on the 6N shift.
