Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring Epic experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute-care Medical/Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown and telemetry work settings
• Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) or Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:30-7:30) available
• Weekend and rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity across the organization as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• IV start skills required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a medical/surgical unit with telemetry monitoring responsibilities
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted in advance and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, either by traveling to a fingerprinting location in-state or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet if located at an extreme distance
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
