Job Summary
The Medical Surgical Floor Professional Staff Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within a hospital setting. This role involves managing and providing care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with healthcare team members. The nurse demonstrates leadership, partnership, and supervision, establishing collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor Location: unspecified.
• Education and Qualifications: RN required; BSN preferred; 2 years of experience required; valid licenses in PA, NY, or MD; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; PA Act 31, 33, 34, 73 licenses and certifications as applicable.
• Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities:
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement efforts, identifying opportunities for clinical and service quality enhancement.
  • Utilizes research and evidence-based practices to support clinical care improvement.
  • Applies the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment, formulating daily goals and a holistic plan of care with patient involvement.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, effective communication, and comprehensive patient documentation to promote interprofessional collaboration.
  • Provides patient and family education, fostering open dialogue and continuous development.
  • Develops and maintains productive relationships internally and externally, respecting cultural differences and prioritizing safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
