Job Summary
The Medical Surgical Floor (MS) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located on a 9th-floor trauma level I unit in a regional referral hospital known for clinical excellence and advanced patient care. The role involves providing nursing care to adult patients with diverse surgical, trauma, and medical needs. The position offers a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and compassionate patient interaction.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, weekly guaranteed hours of 36, with accommodations for up to 48 hours per week. The role includes varied weekend shifts, with at least two weekends scheduled in each four-week cycle.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; minimum of 2+ years of experience in similar clinical settings; willing to float to units with comparable patient populations.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma, orthopedics, or surgical nursing; ability to pass a dysrhythmia and dosage math test prior to eligibility on the unit.
- Additional Information: Candidates must have all Pennsylvania and FBI fingerprinting clearances completed within the last two years. All candidates are expected to have completed appropriate screenings and clearances prior to start date. Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays. The unit cares for adult trauma, orthopedic, urology, colorectal, and surgical patients with patient ratios of 6:1. Scrubs are not mandated in a specific color, but professional appearance is required, with no facial piercings other than a nose stud. This is a new/expanded service line position at a facility with a 9th-floor trauma level I designation.
