Job Details
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical Specialty
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: BLS certification; minimum of 2 years of RN experience; valid nursing license; location requirement: must be outside 50 miles of associated facilities; must pass pass/fail exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%; must have a drivers license.
Responsibilities include providing care for adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as stroke, neurological diseases, amputations, BI, and critical illnesses. Titration of drips is not required; common titratable drips include antibiotics, anticoagulation, and antiplatelets.
Unit ratios: 1:5 during the day, 1:6 during nights; float to Medical Surgical unit as needed.
Schedule includes self-scheduling with cyclic shifts; minimum of every third weekend and two holidays required.
Orientation includes classroom training plus two 12-hour shifts on the unit.
