Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical RN experience, including stroke stepdown experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active New York RN license
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS certification required or obtainable prior to start
• EPIC experience preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to floating assignments as needed
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care to adult med/surg stroke stepdown patients
• Monitor and assess patients with conditions such as stroke, altered mental status, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, renal issues, dialysis needs, and isolation precautions
• Administer treatments and maintain patient safety using unit-specific equipment such as IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to support care plans and patient progress
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Adapt to changing patient needs and support the unit through floating assignments when required
