Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, and surrounding communities
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: January 16, 2027
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, except during orientation and applicable facility closures or holidays
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m.
- Schedule: Weekend rotation up to every other weekend; holiday rotation as needed
- Work Setting: Clinical Resource Team supporting medical-surgical units in Appleton and surrounding communities
- Floating: Must be comfortable floating among medical-surgical units and nearby facilities based on staffing needs
- Call Requirement: No scheduled call or callback requirement
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, including at least 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required; one completed travel contract strongly preferred
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- American Heart Association ACLS certification preferred
- Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience within the past year required
- Ability to care for patients within your demonstrated clinical skill set while adapting quickly to changing assignments
- Strong communication, teamwork, resilience, and change-management skills
Med-Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care across a variety of medical-surgical units.
- Float among assigned units and nearby facilities to support staffing needs and maintain continuity of care.
- Care for patients with medical-surgical, general surgical, oncology, renal, CIWA, CHF, COPD, stroke, orthopedic, trauma, DKA, and cardiac-related needs.
- Support patients receiving pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, post-pacemaker care, and TR Band management when within scope and experience.
- Recognize changes in patient condition, prioritize interventions, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation in Epic.
- Work with LPN and CNA partners to coordinate patient care, with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 1:5–6 based on acuity and staffing.
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations and make up missed shifts within the required timeframe when applicable.
