Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Nurse is needed for a facility in Utica, New York. This role involves caring for adult patients with conditions such as stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and pulmonary problems on a medical-surgical unit. The position requires flexibility for floating across units and is scheduled for night shifts. The Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential patient care within an established team.
Job Details:
- Location: Utica, NY
- Shift: Nights (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM), 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Active licensure verifying NY license and all active RN licenses; Drivers license with address matching demographics; Up-to-date resume with 2+ years of experience in Medical Surgical with stroke stepdown experience and documented travel experience; NURSYS report verification; Must include return to work (RTO) at the time of submission; EMR experience with EPIC; Ability to start on or before 08/24/2026
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IV pumps, N/G feeding tubes, and patient demographics include adults
- Float: Float rotation may be required
- Additional Information: The unit commonly manages patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal complications, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, pulmonary issues, and other general medical-surgical conditions. The unit has 64 beds and utilizes scrub color navy blue.
