Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Specialty: Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse
• Unit: 5 Med, 53-bed medical-surgical unit
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week, except as noted for orientation, holidays, or unit closure
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation
• Contract: 13 weeks, with the possibility of extending to 15 weeks
• Start Date: September 22, 2026
• Setting: On-site acute-care hospital environment
• Charting: EPIC experience within the past 12 months required
• Scrub Color: Any

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience in a short-term acute-care hospital; 3–5 years preferred
• At least 1 completed travel nursing contract preferred
• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a valid compact-state license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Recent experience managing insulin and cardiac drips
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry
• Recent EPIC electronic health record charting experience
• Strong documentation, communication, resilience, and adaptability skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care environment and adapt to changing patient-care needs
• COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with applicable requirements, unless an approved medical or religious exemption applies

Medical-Surgical Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and safely manage insulin and cardiac infusions within scope of practice
• Monitor and interpret telemetry findings and promptly communicate clinically significant changes
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in EPIC
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to coordinate patient care
• Float to comparable units or nearby affiliated locations as needed based on census and clinical competency
• Participate in every-other-weekend and holiday rotation requirements
• Complete required orientation activities and pre-start learning modules
