Job Summary: Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Location: Vermont/New Hampshire. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical floor with a focus on neuro, neuromuscular, and surgical cases. The position requires supporting patients with complex neurological and surgical needs in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
Certifications, Education Requirements, and Experience: No minimum experience required. Qualifications include current nursing licensure and relevant certifications for post-surgical patient care, telemetry, and complex wound management.
Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care including management of chest tubes, IV drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone, post-surgical line and drain care, Trachs/Laryngectomies, telemetry monitoring, complex wound care, central line maintenance, and blood draws.
Additional Information: On-call availability is required. The role supports patients with neuromuscular disorders, stroke, TBI, spinal cord injuries, and surgical cases including tumor resections, spinal surgery, and head and neck cancer. This facility is designated as a Level IV Epilepsy Center, the only one in Vermont and New Hampshire.
