Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active NC or compact license.

Details

• Neuro Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting focused on general medicine with an emphasis on neurological care
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Accepts 36 or 48 hour weekly schedules
• Weekend requirement of 5-6 shifts, equating to every other weekend
• Floating required, with travelers floating first
• Uses Pyxis for medication management, EPIC for documentation, and SBAR for communication
• May be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, pending license/certs acceptable at submission
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Neuro experience preferred
• Charge RN experience or willingness to learn preferred
• Experience with CVA, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
