Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift 34-bed telemetry unit requiring 2+ years of experience and WV or compact licensure.

Details

• 34-bed Medical Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 or 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30), including weekdays and weekend rotations (3 per 4-week schedule)
• Uses Cerner EMR
• 13-week contract with possible extension

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (through AHA)
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skills in respiratory, cardiac, IV therapy, wound care, and telemetry monitoring preferred

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care with telemetry monitoring for a diverse patient population
• Facility expects minimal call-offs (2-3 per contract) due to prior attendance concerns
• Orientation held every other Monday; non-billable modules average 8 hours and must be completed prior to start date
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of Vandalia Health System facilities (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
• Previous license probationary actions reviewed on a case-by-case basis
