Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring AL or compact RN licensure and Level II Trauma experience preferred.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Float required
• May occasionally serve as Charge Nurse as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification via AHA required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Fit test required
• 1+ year of Med/Surg experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Any charting system experience required; Paragon experience preferred
• Skills required: IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac
• Additional preferred skills: blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, Heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, and surgical drain care
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric Med/Surg patients, including wound care and IV therapy
• Local candidates within 60 miles are considered
