Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) on the day shift in Wausau, WI. This position involves providing patient care in a medical-surgical unit, working with adult patients with various conditions such as respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological, gastrointestinal, diabetic management, renal failure, and infectious disease processes. The role includes adherence to hospital standards, charting using EPIC, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Job Details:
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical (MS) on the day shift in Wausau, WI
- Location: 333 PINE RIDGE BLVD, Wausau, WI 54401
- Schedule: 12-hour days, 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS from AHA or ARC, minimum of 2 years of experience, trauma level II experience highly preferred, EPIC charting experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Shift Requirements: 12-hour days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, float to inpatient units as needed
- On Call/Call Back Requirements: Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, low census in hour increments, not considered on call
- Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation
- Additional Information: The unit handles adult patients with conditions such as respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal issues, diabetic management, renal failure, infectious diseases, and acute alcohol withdrawal. Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 during the day. Candidates should be resilient, adaptable, and able to work independently with a positive attitude. Scrub colors are flexible. During flu season, unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times, due to policy enforcement.
