Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) The facility is seeking a qualified Medical Surgical Nurse to provide compassionate care to adult patients on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit. The role involves performing head-to-toe assessments, administering medications, communicating with the interdisciplinary team, updating patients and families on care plans, advocating for patients, and documenting all nursing activities. The position requires flexibility to float across units within the facility, with schedules primarily consisting of 12-hour daytime shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Fargo, ND
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday, minimum 36 hours per week. Shifts may alternate between day and night schedules on a bi-weekly basis, based on unit needs. Self-scheduling is allowed with guaranteed days off as per the contract.
• Required Qualifications: Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, RN or compact state license, a minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds), current EPIC experience (please specify on resume), willingness to float to all units/locations within Fargo as needed, and travel experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior bedside nursing experience in a comparable-sized hospital.
• Specific Unit/Department Training: 8-hour classroom training in the LEAD Center followed by 24 hours of unit-specific training.
• Equipment Utilized: EPIC electronic health record system, OmniCell medication supply system, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, Zebra phones.
• Additional Information: The 32-bed unit consists solely of single rooms. The nurse-to-patient ratio varies between 1:4 and 1:5 during shifts. Floating to other medical-surgical units at different facilities may be required. The facility emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and understanding of various disease processes.
