Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in Danbury, NC. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment. We are seeking skilled RNs with a passion for patient care in a Med Surg unit.

Job Details:

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of experience required.
• Traveler Experience: The unit will accept 1st time travelers.
• Target Ratios: 1:5; 1:6
• Shift: Nights 3x12s, 18:45 - 07:15
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours can be offered.
• Call Requirement: On call required if there is a low census day; this rarely occurs.
• Float Requirement: Will float as needed.
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend (8 shifts for 13-week contracts).

Patient Diagnoses: COPD, CHF, Diabetes, Infectious diseases, rehab, typical med/surg, telemetry.

Special Procedures / Unit Details: Avg Daily Census 8, Beds 12.

Unit Systems: Manual Dispense Carts, Paper, SBAR.

Unit Orientation: 24-36 hours. Hospital Orientation week one; traveler must be available for classes each day.

Scrubs: Navy blue.

Required Skills / Certifications:

• Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management
• Starting and maintaining IVs, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration
• Oxygen tanks, Isolation Precautions/PPE
• Certifications: BLS

Preferred Skills / Certifications:

• IV insulin protocols, Heparin, Insulin, Manage Cardiac drips - no titration
• BiPAP/CPAP management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Non-invasive airway management
• Oral suctioning, Wound Care/Wound Vac, community hospital experience preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
