Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring at least 1 year of Epic EMR experience and active TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on stroke/TIA patients and higher-acuity medical-surgical cases
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Specialized procedures include peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Floating to other units and/or campuses may be required based on census and demonstrated competencies
• Omnicell medication system in use
• Epic EMR is used; minimum 1 year of experience required

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Valid driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible; candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
• Two professional references are required for consideration
• Unit is highly focused on patient experience
