All rooms are capable of cardiac monitoring, capnography, and continuous pulse oximetry. We schedule for 3 CNA/PCTs for a full unit of 22 patients, in addition to 1 HUC (secretary) M-F 0700-2300. Other support roles include a CNS (clinical nurse specialist), Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, Administrative Assistant, and a Medical Director. Special Equipment : We have 8 beds for telemetry or end-tidal CO2 monitoring: all monitored patients are covered by monitor techs at a central monitoring unit. Nurses are not required to verify strips. Unit nurse ratios are usually 1:4, occasionally 1:5, with a free-float charge RN. UVA has an IV team as well as phlebotomy services, so IV and phlebotomy expertise is not necessary. We also have an inpatient wound care team with strong support by WOC RNs 7 days a week for wound vac and ostomy needs. #Tier2 Travel Compliance Before You Submit: RTO: Maximum 40 hours per 13-week contract.
