Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry at the facility in Monroe, North Carolina. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 45-bed unit, managing general medical-surgical populations including orthopedics, COPD, stroke, diabetes, and more. The position requires adaptability to float across regional facilities and work night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends, no call, Holiday staffing at 75%, can approve up to 6 days off excluding holidays, shift start times at 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM, schedule cycle every 6 weeks.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NHSS certifications, 18 months of hospital MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience, located within 50 miles outside the assigned unit's home hospital, and applicable to regional floating to facilities within designated areas.
- Skills: Competence in general medical-surgical nursing skills including IV start, drain/tube management, wound care, NGT placement, central line management, and managing non-titrating cardiac drips like Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin gtts, and blood products.
- Support within the Department: Includes nursing support staff (CNAs), receptionists/HUCs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, resource nurse support, 24/7 RTs, hospitalist coverage, intensivists in ICU, telemetry technicians, and specialized hospital equipment including EMR (Epic), IV pumps (alaris), medication dispense (Omnicell), and monitors (Philips).
- Float: Float rotation may be required within region, including facilities in Pineville, Anson, Union, and surrounding areas, as needed and within scope of practice. Floating mid-shift includes paid travel time.
- Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation.
