Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for night shifts requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and SC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a new MS/Tele unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Bedside monitors capable of telemetry, BP, and pulse ox monitoring
• 3x12 night shifts, 6:45pm-7:15am
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used, experience preferred

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and emergency response care on a newly established unit
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Manage patients with respiratory needs including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Care for patients experiencing renal failure
• Royal blue scrub color required
• 24/7 house supervisor coverage available, though no off-shift unit management is scheduled (leadership reachable by phone)
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Block scheduling requests can be made but are not guaranteed
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate; must reside within 60-mile radius
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
