Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring at least one year of experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Medical Surgical/Remote Telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients with diagnoses including diabetes, post-op recovery, wound vacs, and bariatrics
• 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 28 and typical patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication method
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• On-call includes every other weekend and holidays as needed, plus relief charge duties

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per assignment
• Holiday coverage required for major holidays including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, both must be worked with no holiday RTO permitted
• If three major holidays fall within the assignment, two must be worked and one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Returning travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for one full year to be eligible to return
