• Float: May be required as needed
• Orientation: 24 hours

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; med/surg telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Epic required
• BLS required
• ACLS and NIHSS preferred for success in this telemetry nursing role
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients with medical-surgical and telemetry needs
• Comfort working a night shift schedule with weekend coverage
• Willingness to complete required onboarding compliance steps, including EKG testing
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care to adults and older adults with general med/surg and telemetry-related conditions
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Manage common diagnoses including respiratory conditions, diabetes, surgical observation, renal issues, substance withdrawal, and palliative or hospice needs
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products according to unit protocols
• Perform assessments, document care accurately in Epic, and communicate updates with the care team
• Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, wound care, drains, feeding tubes, and other routine med/surg interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes
• Float to other units or campuses when needed to support patient care
