Job Summary: Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurse position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves caring for adult patients in a 30-bed unit that includes Medical Surgical Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit. The clinician must demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry, pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract, and be willing to work nights. The position requires flexibility to float to various units, including a Pediatric unit and adult Multi Care Unit, with scheduled weekend and holiday rotations.
Job Details:
Shift: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts from 07:00 PM to 07:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: BLS and ACLS certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing; experience with telemetry reading and interpretation; must pass dysrhythmia exam on hire; willingness to care for both Medical Surgical Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit patients
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in telemetry preferred; ability to precept nursing students
Float: Float into multi-care and pediatric units to care for adult MS telemetry patients and to the West Campus Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
Additional Information:
Candidates must be willing to attend hospital and unit orientation based on experience.
Nurse aides may care for 10-15 patients; RN to provide primary care for 3 patients when no nurse aide is present.
Care for stable C-PAP or Bi-PAP patients is required.
RNs must be able to read and interpret tele strips, with remote monitor tech support available.
Occasional standby or call may be required based on census.
Staffing adheres to a 50-bed inpatient hospital setting with assorted unit types.
The position involves working every other weekend, with holiday rotation responsibilities.
