Job Summary:
The specialized Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, Wisconsin, within a leading neuro-intensive care unit. This role involves providing nursing care to adult and geriatric neuro patients on a fast-paced 25-bed neurosurgery general care unit, with a focus on neuro conditions such as multiple sclerosis, ALS, and traumatic brain injuries. The position starts on August 31, 2026, and offers rotating shifts with day and night coverage, including weekends and some holidays, utilizing 12-hour shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI
• Shift Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours, starting on 08/31/2026, with minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: WI RN or compact RN license, BLS certification from AHA, 2+ years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Neuro Medical-Surgical with Telemetry, Epic electronic charting system experience, adult and geriatric patient care experience, Telemetry test passing required prior to start, valid certifications including BLS.
• Preferred Qualifications: Neuro MS/T experience, trauma experience, prior telemetry experience, experience managing complex neuro patients.
• Clinical Responsibilities: Managing neuro patient care including monitoring telemetry, managing IVs and central lines, wound care, device management such as feeding tubes and chest tubes, administering blood products and medications, and responding to rapid response/team activation.
• Special Equipment: Pass Telemetry test prior to start; telemetry monitoring experience preferred.
• Additional Information: Travelers will be required to float as needed; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted; strict pass/fail testing criteria for telemetry interpretation, with two attempts allowed.
• Parking: Permit required through university transportation services; other transportation options are available.
