Travel Nurse Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of medical-surgical and telemetry registered nursing experience
• At least 2 completed travel nursing assignments
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and AHA ACLS certifications
• Associate degree or nursing certificate as required for the assignment
• Medhost charting experience preferred; training will be provided
• Ability to work independently, manage change effectively, and provide dependable patient care during overnight shifts

Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Assess patients, monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms, and promptly identify changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols
• Collaborate with LPNs and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate individualized patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Medhost
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge needs
• Prioritize care effectively in a 5-6:1 patient assignment while maintaining high standards of patient safety and compassion
