Medical Surgical with Telemetry Nurse in Madison, Wisconsin. Job Details

• Position Description: Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts, 1900 - 0730, with weekend and holiday rotations based on operational needs.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN or compact RN license, at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty, Epic electronic health record experience, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, passing telemetry competency test prior to start.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charge nurse duties, community hospital experience, and LTAC experience are preferred.
• Certifications: BLS required from the American Heart Association.
• Skills: Management of ports, bariatric surgery, BiPAP/CPAP, blood products, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tubes, heparin, insulin, dysrhythmias, PPE, IV insulin protocols, med/surg, telemetry, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, ortho trauma, oxygen administration, PCA, PICC line, dialysis, phlebotomy, pre/post neurosurgery, renal failure, short stay units, IV management, substance withdrawal, use of rapid response and code teams, wound care, tracheostomy care, and more.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Must have two years of recent acute care experience, pass strict telemetry exam with two attempts, and meet competency criteria for lethal rhythms and heart blocks. Travel is required; candidates outside a 50-mile radius are not accepted.
• Submittal Requirements: Telemetry exam, passing score of 80% or higher, within two attempts. If failed twice, submit a cardiac review course certificate before third attempt; failure after third attempt results in cancellation of the assignment.
