Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Float Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care in a medical-surgical setting, with flexibility to support multiple units as a float nurse. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring adherence to all practice standards and promoting patient-centered, evidence-based practices within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Required Qualifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License; BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross); Nursing experience of at least 6 months to 3 years; Management experience of 0 to 3 years; Five or more (5+) years of direct nursing experience; Skills in collaboration, communication (verbal & written), judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning (organizing, time management), problem solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
• Additional Information: The position requires Epic electronic health record experience and supports a float role with potential unit-specific requirements. The start date is 08/31/2026.
