Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift surgical overflow unit requiring 1 year of experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a Med/Surg Tele unit functioning as surgical overflow
• Patient population primarily includes general surgery, orthopedic, and telemetry cases
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
• Nursing degree required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications through the American Heart Association required (NIHSS may be pending but must be completed prior to start)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management required
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management required
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
• Charting system experience required (any EMR system accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for surgical overflow patients including general surgery, orthopedic, and telemetry cases
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed for emergency situations
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
