Jackson HealthPros is hiring a Clinical / Medical Laboratory Scientist (formerly Medical Technologist) to perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits to aid physicians in the diagnosis or monitoring of various disease states.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science as required by CLIA regulations.
- ASCP, AMT or equivalent MT/MLS certification preferred. Applicants without current certification must take and pass the ASCP, NCA (MT/MLS) or equivalent exam within 6 months of hire; failure to pass will result in probation and required retake as described by the client. (Preferred: current certification.)
- At least 3 months of documented training in each specialty area in which the individual performs high complexity testing. Training may include prior employment, on-site training, or education curriculum.
- Complete operational ability in all core lab areas including blood banking, hematology, serology, chemistry and morphological examinations.
- Experience performing high-complexity testing and quality control, including documentation of remedial actions.
- Ability to collect specimens under aseptic conditions and to handle chemicals and infectious materials safely.
- Ability to supervise a department, section of testing or a shift when assigned.
- BLS certification.
- Physical ability to perform job duties including visual, auditory, manual dexterity and occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling or climbing.
