Job Opportunity – Histology Technician – Santa Rosa, CA 95405Start Date: August 10, 2026
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Schedule: Night shift, 5x8-hour shifts (21:00 - 05:30), Saturday to Thursday. 40-hour orientation provided. Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
Highlights:- 13-week travel assignment at an acute care facility in Northern California wine country
- Comprehensive histology role including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining procedures
- Work with automated IHC, special stains, and manual special stains on routine hospital anatomical pathology specimens
- Interdisciplinary support from phlebotomy and radiology teams
- Business casual or scrubs dress code in a professional laboratory environment
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements:- Minimum 2 years of histology experience required
- Hospital grossing experience is mandatory – this is a hard requirement
- ASCP-HT certification required
- Associate's Degree in Science required
- Valid California state license preferred (pending license accepted)
- Cytology skills including thin prep, cell block, cytospin, and GYN specimens preparation
- Proficiency in frozen section preparation, microtomy techniques, H&E staining, and special stains
- Experience with automated tissue processors, microtomes, and embedding procedures
- Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
