Join a leading acute-care hospital as a MedSurg/Telemetry RN in Charlotte, NC. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new unit that opened in January 2025, known for its welcoming and psychologically safe culture. We are looking for skilled RNs who are passionate about providing high-quality patient care.

Unit Information:

• Beds: 34; Average Census: 32 + 3 surge rooms
• Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience
• First-time travelers are welcome!

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Med/Tele Surgical: ESRD, CHF, Pneumonia, Sickle Cell Crisis, Diabetes/DKA, Wounds, Acute/Chronic Renal Failure
• Starting Spring 2026, this unit will also care for Hematology/Oncology patients (no chemo certification required)

Patient Ratios:

• RN: Days: 1:5; Nights: 1:6 (critical surge 1:7-8)
• CNA: Days 1:12; Nights 1:12

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS preferred but not required
• CNA: BLS

Skills Required:

• RN: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), general medical/surgical skillset including care of patients with tubes/drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care/dressing changes
• CNA: Acute care MedSurg experience; experience with lift equipment - Hoyer

Support within the Department:

• CNA (Ratios - 1:12) - patient care (ADLs/Vitals/Nutrition) and mobility
• Receptionist/HUC, 24/7 - able to validate EKGs
• Charge nurse, Phlebotomy, 24/7
• IV/VAT Team, 24/7
• Dedicated Pharmacist, Case Manager x 2 per unit, MedSurg Clinical Nurse Specialist
• RT 24/7 - will perform Nebulizer treatments
• Nurse Educator, Hospitalist, 24/7
• Telemetry monitoring/tech available

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Phillips
• Rover Communication
• Hoyer lift

Floating:

• Within region and scope of practice; may require floating to all facilities listed in Region 2 (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division)
• If floating mid-shift, traveler will be paid for travel time between facilities

• NEO
• 2 days departmental
