Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a MICU position requiring EPIC experience and at least 18 months of MICU experience.

Details

  • Medical ICU (MICU) unit within a short-term acute care teaching hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Floating required across three hospital campuses within a 20-mile radius as needed
  • EPIC EMR system used for charting
  • No block scheduling accommodations available

Requirements

  • Active FL or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 18 months MICU experience required, 2 years preferred
  • BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required
  • ACLS certification required at time of submittal
  • NIHSS certification required prior to start
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line and central line management
  • Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation
  • Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Experience interpreting ABGs and performing ETT/NT suctioning
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for critically ill MICU patients requiring advanced respiratory and cardiac interventions
  • Facility is a smoke-free environment requiring all travelers to be nicotine-free with a negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine
  • White scrub color required
  • Time-sensitive onboarding modules must be completed promptly once confirmed for the assignment
  • EKG and pharmacology tests required during orientation with a maximum of two attempts each and no remediation
  • Strict no call-in policy enforced
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront, as later requests are unlikely to be approved
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous permanent or per diem staff must wait one year from their last end date before returning to this health system
