Travel RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Healthcare Setting: On-site, 24-bed MICU with an average daily census of approximately 23 patients
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients

MICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of current MICU, ICU, or comparable acute care nursing experience, with consistent specialty experience within the past 12 months.
- Active Ohio nursing license or valid compact RN license in hand at the time of submission.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Recent experience with Epic computerized charting.
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program.
- Strong critical care nursing experience caring for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, CRRT, arterial lines, central lines, and complex medication regimens.
- Ability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly before the travel assignment start date.
- Two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader.
MICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit.
- Care for patients with oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, gastrointestinal bleeding, neuromuscular disease, drug overdose, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and sepsis.
- Manage patients receiving mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, continuous IV sedation, and ventilator support.
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive infusions while monitoring hemodynamic status and patient response.
- Perform arterial line and central line management, PICC care, blood product administration, IV initiation, phlebotomy, and suctioning.
- Support patients receiving CRRT, chemotherapy, plasmapheresis, and other complex critical care therapies.
- Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Apply infection prevention, isolation, and patient safety practices throughout care delivery.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic.
