Job Description

WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a travel nurse RN MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in New Haven, Connecticut.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity MICU and Stepdown unit, providing critical care to patients with complex medical conditions. WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking dedicated and experienced RNs to deliver exceptional patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Stepdown Unit (SDU).
  • Manage patient assignments, primarily in the SDU (3:1 ratio), with occasional ICU coverage.
  • Float to other units as needed, including PCU and other ICUs.
  • Monitor and interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias.
  • Administer and manage continuous IV sedation and central line care.
  • Implement isolation precautions and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a critical care setting.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  • Proficiency in arterial line management and care of ventilated patients.
  • Experience with managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
  • Willingness to work 3x12 night shifts and every other weekend (EOW).
  • Flu vaccine required; no exemptions.
