Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or proof that the application process has been initiated
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Ability to interpret EKG strips independently
• Experience with arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, and vasoactive drips
• Strong skills in titrating drips and managing high-acuity patients
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced critical care environment with changing patient needs
• Ability to float as needed to lower-acuity units

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU
• Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Titrate vasoactive and cardioactive medications according to ordered parameters
• Manage ventilated patients and assist with respiratory equipment troubleshooting
• Interpret telemetry and EKG strips with accuracy and confidence
• Collaborate closely with intensivists, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and support staff
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
• Support safe floating to stepdown or general med-surg areas when needed
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care in a team-oriented healthcare setting
