Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring 2+ years of MICU experience and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at a teaching hospital with Trauma Level I designation
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15
• Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday)
• No call requirements
• Floating required to ICU, intermediate, and telemetry units
• Uses Epic charting system
• Navy blue scrubs required per dress code

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• 2+ years of MICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and TPN/lipids administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients required
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, AKI, and renal transplant care required
• Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia management required
• PA fingerprints required, which may involve travel over 100 miles and processing time of up to 2 weeks
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill medical ICU patients, including management of multisystem organ dysfunction
• One winter holiday (Eve and Day) coverage required
• RTO must be submitted prior to consideration; requests after submission will not be accepted
• Block scheduling may be considered
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a different rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are considered local
• Pass/fail clinical exam required, with a maximum of three attempts allowed
