Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced MICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Work in a 16-bed Medical ICU
• Patient population includes sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, and respiratory failure/shock
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity
• Utilizes CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella technologies
• EPIC charting experience required
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of MICU nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Skilled in arterial line and central line care/management, blood product administration, and IV therapy
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasoactive/cardiac drip titration, and neuromuscular blockade
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, acute kidney injury, and renal failure management
• Knowledge of CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocols
• No prior employment with the health system within the past 6 months

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
