Travel Mother-Baby Registered Nurse (Postpartum RN) – Columbus, Ohio

Family-centered Mother-Baby Registered Nurse travel assignment in Columbus, OH for an experienced postpartum RN seeking a supportive, high-acuity women’s health and maternal-newborn care environment. • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,830 - $1,930
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Shift Duration: 12 hours

• Setting: Inpatient postpartum / mother-baby care
• Unit Focus: Family-centered care for women and infants
• Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage may be required; floating to similar-acuity areas may be needed

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of postpartum, mother-baby, or maternal-newborn nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• IV start skills and labor & delivery experience
• Experience with EPIC preferred/required for success in the role
• Telemetry interpretation required; candidates must pass an EKG exam prior to start
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to postpartum patients and healthy newborns
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive postpartum nursing care for patients following vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Support healthy newborns and infants with NAS-related needs
• Deliver discharge teaching, breastfeeding support, newborn education, and family guidance
• Perform assessments and manage common postpartum concerns such as pain, lochia/fundus checks, wound care, and hypertension monitoring
• Administer medications and therapies including IV antibiotics, oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and blood products as appropriate
• Initiate and maintain IVs, manage Foley catheters, and support maternal recovery needs
• Interpret telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide safe, high-quality clinical support and family-centered care
• Float to similar-acuity units within the organization as needed
